Members connected over the shared struggle of painful mornings with fibromyalgia, describing waking up tired, stiff, and sometimes feeling like walking on marbles, with pain taking an hour or more to ease. Several members shared what helps them cope, including half-caffeinated coffee to get motivated, medications like Gabapentin for pain relief, and sleeping aids (though some expressed concerns about dependency), while acknowledging that lying down for any period tends to trigger pain. A recurring theme was the cycle of chronic insomnia, nightmares, and fragmented sleep that fuels both physical pain and emotional distress, with members offering gentle encouragement and practical resources to help one another understand and manage morning pain.

I am so stiff in the morning and find it hard to get going. Sometimes I feel like i am walking on marbles . My worst time too Sandy!!! 1 cup of half decaf and regular coffee get me motivated and helps me think more clearly. Hang n there !!!!!!!

@A MyFibroTeam Member Awe that's not good have to discussed that with your Dr. as I would think it would be considered a side effect. May you are sensitive to something thats in it. But I sure do know the waking tired but I can only sleep 4-5 hours at a time by 5pm I am down for a nap. I have been on a 2 stage sleep for 3 years now.

I wake up tired all the time. I also tend to get horrible nightmares which does not help with getting a good night sleep...
