I was on Savella for nearly two years. It seemed to help however I developed high blood pressure and palpitations. My Dr. did not feel it was the drug so I remained on it. At one point after researching reader comments regarding side effects I told my Dr. I was going to discontinue it and for him to humor me. My BP fell back to normal and the palpitations went away. I no longer take it.
I took it and it was amazing for the pain, but it numbed my brain so much that I just couldn't think. Cut dose in half and pain returned. Went back to Cymbalta 60mg day. It helps, but does not erase pain completely. I was off of all of it for about 2 weeks and pain was unbearable, so I know that the Cymbalta helps.
Savella was great in that I had tons of energy. However my thoughts became almost manic and I started making impulsive decisions with everyday things. Aggressive driving, blurting out things, inappropriate comments. Almost like my filters were turned off. (I literally felt like a teenager!) My doctor took me off and I am now on Pristiq. Doing ok on it but I miss the energy. everyone is different.
I take it works well for me. But I do have weight gain from it.
Savella made me so agitated I thought I would loose my mind. Sweats were miserable. Went back to Cymbalta after 2 months.
