Hello!! Wondering if there is anyone who has had rib pain so badly your breasts hurt. Just came back from a mammogram and ultrasound because of severe breast pain. Just the right breast. Thankfully, all tests were great!!! But I do get Costochondritis and now I think that it's causing the breast problem.

Members validated the original poster's experience with costochondritis-related breast and rib pain, with many sharing similar stories of stabbing, crushing, or burning sensations that led to mammograms, ultrasounds, chest x-rays, and ECGs, all of which came back clear. Several members found relief through heating pads, ibuprofen or Naproxen, reclining positions, and epidural steroids, though many noted the pain can persist for months and radiate from the chest through the back, shoulders, and even down the arms. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of health anxiety and the relief of finally understanding that costochondritis is a common fibromyalgia symptom rather than something more serious.

I thought I might alone on this one.. I too suffer with breast/rib pain which raps around the back into my shoulder blade.... had the same breast ultrasound, ecg, chest x-ray .. I have health anxiety too which doesn't help as every ache and pain I believe is something more than just fibro.... fed up with going doctors all the time πŸ˜” gentle hugs to you all πŸ€—

I also get a lot of breast pain but also chest pain and rib pain. After a mammogram and x rays came out normal they also said it was costochondritis. I read it's common in people with fibro. My pain sometimes will go down my right arm to my hand and make my hand turn red like it's burning inside. All I did was read about it and put a heating pad on my chest which really helped and kept taking Naproxen. Happy it went away but it took a
long time. Had the pain for about 3 months.
Hope your feeling better

My ribs always hurt. It really feels like bone pain. Never heard of costochondritis. Will have to read up on that.

Yes. Stabbing breast pain. I had a scare before my fibro diagnosis that ended after mammograms every 3 months for 2 years--all negative. I have intercostal inflammation as well and it can hurt from the front through my back. I take ibuprofen for it at times but I have to be careful since the med I take for lupus (hydroxychloroquine) can cause liver damage if taken with anti-inflammatory meds. Good luck and know that you don't suffer alone!

Yes, I get the severe rib/breast pain as well, ultrasound came up clean. I get no relief other than lying down or back in a reclining position, otherwise it's a very painful crushing sensation.
