Sicklerville, NJ

For over 3 years I have had burning when I urinate. After I would get a stinging pain in my lower left side. Since time passed it got worse and is excruciating and the pain on my left side has increased and is more on the side. I've been tested for UTIs and kidney infections and it is always fine. I don't understand or know if this is a part of fibro? Also lately I have been having stomach pain and cramping. Is this also symptoms other people have that are fibro related?

Members responded to a question about severe burning during urination and left abdominal pain by sharing similar experiences and offering practical next steps, with several noting that urinary issues can be a symptom of fibromyalgia itself. Many members strongly recommended seeing a urologist to rule out kidney stones, problems with the urinary tubes, or interstitial cystitis, a bladder condition that commonly occurs alongside fibro and mimics UTI symptoms without infection. A recurring theme was the importance of thorough testing including ultrasounds, CT scans, and checks for diverticulitis or medication side effects, with members emphasizing self-advocacy and persistence in seeking answers even when routine tests come back normal.

I have interstitial cystitis as well as fibro. Sounds very similar. Painful urination, bladder spasms, going 40-60times a day or unable to urinate. If this sounds like what your going through see a uro. There will not be an infection but will mimick a uti

I have had some issues with not being able to go but, they passed. It sounds like the way you describe the delayed urination. I have never been checked for it. It was suggested to me, but I never did it.

Yes! I do all the time, I have no idea what it is, but it hurts so bad! I just sit there whimpering.

Unfortunately urinary issues can be a symptom of fibro. I have delayed urination. Feels like I have to go bad at times and then a little comes out. I've been checked and so far fine, so chalking up to fibro. I would go get checked like @A MyFibroTeam Member mentioned just to be completely sure.

I have interstitial cystitis and fibro, I have the same pain in my left side. They have done ultra sounds and plenty of other tests, all have come back normal. I think it might be something in the combination of the two for some people that causes the pain. I thought that it could be an OB issue myself after the routine tests, but I had a total hysterectomy and the pain is still there.
