Members widely shared the experience of extreme temperature fluctuations related to fibromyalgia, describing feeling bone-chillingly cold one moment and burning up the next, often despite normal lab results and warm room temperatures. Several members found relief through practical solutions like electric blankets, heating pads, layering clothes indoors, warm showers, and medications like Gabapentin, while many also noted a strong connection between their temperature regulation issues and low thyroid function. A recurring theme was the community's shared frustration with bodies that struggle to maintain normal temperature, the need to advocate for thyroid testing beyond standard labs, and the comfort of knowing others truly understand this isolating symptom.

There is a correlation with fibro and low thyroid.

My problem is getting overheated very easily. I think our bodies have trouble regulating temp changes due to fibro.

Yes! I have that. Sometimes, even in the summer, I turn on the heating pad on the bed and cover up. It helps. Winters for me are the worst.

I too get incredibly cold & this started about a year ago. I sleep with an electric blanket now, winter, spring, and summer.
I used to be hot..hahaha, on many levels, but that all changed and fibromyalgia was the culprit. I'm cold most of the time but I've learned to put socks on, with my slippers, etc.

Yes! I'm cold all the time & if my body gets too cold it's hard to get my body temperature back to normal . I found that taking a warm shower & getting in bed under the blanket helps. I read that on one of the other sites . .
