I have recently noticed that my hair is coming out. I am only 32 years old.. When I get out of the shower the drain will be clogged and everytime I brush my hair my hairbrush is full of hair. Has this been an issue for anyone else and if so what has helped? Any certain shampoo-conditioner? I am also really turning grey early I believe, especially in front of my ears...I have dark brown hair naturally. My husband has noticed these issues as well.
Thanks!!!

Members connected over the distressing experience of hair loss and premature graying, with many sharing similar struggles in their late twenties and early thirties that left them feeling scared and self-conscious. Several members strongly recommended getting thyroid function tested, as hypothyroidism commonly overlaps with fibromyalgia and can cause significant hair shedding, with some finding relief after starting thyroid medication or supplements like B complex vitamins, selenium, or iron. A recurring theme was the importance of advocating with doctors, trying targeted supplements, and finding community reassurance that they weren't alone in these changes.

That and weight gain (unexplained) were my first noticeable changes. I cannot have hair without taking B complex. It brought back the lost hair and keeps it, but it did come back curly!

Yes ma'am...the past 1.5 years I've noticed drastic hair loss (and very sore scalp). Seems to be a lot of us.

@A MyFibroTeam Member sounds the same as me. My thyroid was the first thing that my doctors tested, along with mono.

I am wondering if your doctors have checked your thyroid function. It seems that hypothyroidism is quite commonly found in fibromyalgia patients. I take thyroid meds now. One of my symptoms was my hair was falling out by the handful. Best of luck in getting this resolved!

I am 48 and I am compketely grey. I am lucky in this respect that it looks blondish with natural hi lites and low lites. I used to loose lots of hair, but since I have been taking Astyfer an Iron supplement my hair started growing back.it also contains all the Vits and minerals for absorbtion of iron.
