Is anyone taking Savella? I just started 10 days ago. So far; I am losing weight which I hope will help with some pain itself. I also take Aleve twice a day, Gabapentin, and Requip (for restless legs), synthroid, and blood pressure meds. I don't function well AT ALL on pain meds, I hate them.

Members shared mostly positive experiences with Savella for fibromyalgia pain, with many reporting significant relief at doses ranging from 25mg to 100mg twice daily, though some noted it took 6 to 12 weeks to see major improvements. Several members described common side effects including night sweats, insomnia, constipation, increased heart rate, and high blood pressure, with some finding relief significant enough to reduce or eliminate other medications entirely. A recurring theme was the importance of working closely with doctors to find the right medication combination and dosage, with members emphasizing patience during the trial period and careful monitoring of side effects while pursuing better quality of life.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I am always careful. I research everything and discuss with my team of doctor's. Regarding side efects those occur at 100 mg as well. I monitor everything and have a journal that goes with me to every appt. I am not worried about the side effects as much as I am worried about not trying. For me it is about quality of life and until I find that quality of life I am going to keep trying. I am also not one of those people that accept answer like that's the way its always been. Give me evidence and long term studies showing what happens at 200 mg. If I am able to push the envelope and discover that it is safe than I will do it to make my like and others lives better. I do appreciate your concerns though and my eyes are wide open.

I've been on Savella for years now and I can definitely tell when I miss a dose. I take 50mg 2x's a day. I was on Gabapentin for years also, but decided last month I was done with it and weaned myself off. I still have nerve pain, twitching, and numbness along with the feeling of vibration (like a tuning fork) but I didn't like feeling loopy and out of it. So I traded

It's always a challenge to find the right meds in the right combination and the right dose!! I've noticed that many of us have wicked medicine allergies so much more than the general population! It's what I consider part of the "war" on the "enemy" fibro!!

Yes, I've been on for several years also. I consider it my saving medication!! It has helped not only lower the pain, it helps "fibro fog" and depression. I was able to decrease many of my meds dosage and even eliminate a couple of them!

I also take 50 2X a day. I would love to get off the Gabapentin and Aleve for pain. I have noticed the night sweats, insomnia (I have issues with that anyway), and constipation. I have IBS though too. It seems to be a give and take thing. If something helps, it also harms in some way...
