I’m wondering how many of you Fibro sufferers exercise on a daily basis what kind of exercises do you do and for how long? I was told by my Doctor Who diagnosed me into 2thousand and four that the best thing for fibromyalgia is exercise. at the time I was so confused by this because I was working eight hours shifts I was walking 10,000 steps in an eight hour shift and I have exercise since I was 17 years old . I am on lyrica which is helping some, but I'm gaining weight. I can't be super active but would like some ideas of types of exercises I can do.
I am trying very hard to loose weight and get back into exercise but I was wondering what sort of excercise other do that doesn't cause too much pain? I was wondering if anybody has tried yoga and what you thought of it?
Fibro zaps your energy but your doctor tells you that more exercise will ease the pain, how do you move more if you just don't have the energy?
Because overexertion can cause alot of flare ups, what sort of exercise regimen is suggested? Are there certain types of yoga that are better for fibro and chronic pain?
Does anyone know if yoga is a good exercise/treatment for fibro? I've been wanting to give it a try but have found that I am pretty limited to what exercises I can do qithout bringing on more pain.

When I say “exercise,” I mean 20 pushups and a few standing calf raises at my kitchen counter. My muscles feel like I had a 1 hour intense personal training session with an NFL coach. Is this normal? I do not exercise regularly but I am not carrying extra weight. I just did not expect to feel so crappy. I exercised the last couple of days and have pain and stiffness on my right side really bad from my arm to my foot. I lifted some weights and jogged a bit, hoping it would make me fe better but didnt.
