I seem to get “statements” from team members I don’t know, but, seem to be struggling. We’ve all had ups, downs with health, and I assumed, it was alright to leave “ways to help”, which apparently they don’t want. I don’t live in “self pity”, daily I too have health issues that are scary.

I thought this site was about both, but clearly not. It’s not easy for anyone being not well.

We shouldn’t be able to see others on our feed. This will help those that choose to vent for the sake of venting.

Members rallied around a question about whether this community is truly a supportive space, with many sharing that passive-aggressive comments and unsolicited advice have made the experience feel unwelcoming at times. Several members offered practical tips like curating your team list, using the block button, and contacting moderators for direct unkind messages, while others reminded the group that some people simply want to feel heard rather than receive solutions. A recurring theme was that one kind connection can make all the difference, and the community showed up with warmth, encouragement, and a shared hope that everyone would stay.

Mccall, I support your doing whatever it is you need to do to protect your well-being and peace of mind. ☀️ I wish you well should you realize it's time you left MFT.

Since you wrote this in the question section, I wonder if you are looking for suggestions?

If you are navigating how to use MFT in a way that works best for you, I can share some ideas:

1. If someone writes a direct message to you, and it is disrespectful or unkind, you can contact the moderators of this site, because that's not ok.
2. You can curate your team. Removing people means that you won't see their status or questions when you log in (as long as you stay in your team and not the general feed/timeline).
3. You can block people so you won't see them no matter where you are on the site.
4. You can also simply scroll on by whatever post, question, or update from other members and not engage. You can choose to engage with posts and members who you feel comfortable with.

Some additional thoughts that I have:
Fibromyalgia very often comes with a diagnosis of depression or anxiety. For some members, they may not be in solution seeking mode. They may simply want a safe feeling space to share, to be heard, to not feel alone.
Others may post questions in a way that you might see as attention seeking, but I don't see anything wrong with seeking attention. It just means that they probably feel lonely or scared and they want connection.

Much love to all. 💗

I have Raynaud’s and deal with not being able to get my body temperature up at night. If I get too cold, I can’t fall asleep.
If the air in the room is too cold in winter, I can’t sleep.

It has taken me a long time to figure out how to deal with this. No one helped me figure it out.
Everything is a do it yourself project as is everything in life.

Sorry if I have offended you in any way.
I am just a person too with body temperature issues.

Everyone is looking for something different. Though I do think most, if not all, mean well and are here to support one another.
It took me a while to understand that some, even when they ask direct questions, are not looking for solutions. And that’s okay too. 🥴🧘😅

Passive aggressive comments can be so activating and hurtful, but remember it’s never about you.

I hope you will stick around, friend. The group is better with you in it.
Sending love and understanding

Hi @A MyFibroTeam Member. I don’t feel you needed to apologise for sharing what has helped you. That’s one of the valuable things about this community, we can share our experiences, and others can consider whether a suggestion might suit them.

What works for one person won’t necessarily work for another, but that can be said respectfully. Calling you an ‘idiot’ was in my opinion, hurtful and uncalled for. Your willingness to help deserves kindness and respect.
