Members connected over the frustrating and common experience of bladder problems linked to fibromyalgia, confirming that an irritable or overactive bladder is a recognized symptom that differs from a UTI and tends to come and go. Several members shared helpful strategies including wearing absorbent pads, avoiding caffeine before outings, and trying cranberry probiotics or pumpkin seed oil, with many reporting real improvement after a few weeks. A recurring theme was the relief of knowing they were not alone, along with practical options like the prescription medication Gemtesa and Botox injections via cystoscopy for more severe cases.

Doesn’t help that I’m thirsty all the time ,and drink lots of water.
I know where the bathroom is everywhere I go!

One thing I make sure of: Never have caffeine before I go shopping. In some ways having Fibromyalgia is comparable to the FLU when we're supposed to drink plenty of fluids. Almost everyone I know with Fibromyalgia drinks plenty of fluids. Drinking plenty of fluids = needing to use the toilet all the time. Thankfully, there's no pain ... just regular use of the toilet, more often that I used to need to use it before I got Fibromyalgia.
