Members shared creative and gentle ways to make exercise a daily habit, especially when living with conditions like fibromyalgia. Several members suggested starting very small, like a short walk, a few stretches, or even a single exercise rep at a time, with YouTube, apps, chair yoga, and Tai Chi mentioned as accessible options. A recurring theme was giving yourself permission to do less on hard days, with many finding that fitting movement into small moments and building up slowly made the biggest difference.

Start small. A walk up the street. A few stretches. There are plenty on you tube.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Walking is the best 🧡. Often, on days when I can't do much of my physio exercises, I can still walk a good bit.

For me it's taking a walk a couple of times a day in the morning and after super time.

Well, they are going to have one of the young adult ministers sit in on this coming weeks meeting. I don't know if I am even going to go. I enjoy what we have now and if it is going to change, it may not be for me anymore. I want this to stay a bereavement group not a memorizing bible verses group. I know that may sound harsh, but, I pray every day, I share my life and my trials with God, I just don't want to do a bible study group instead of grief and that is where I am afraid this is headed.

When I no longer had available to me my twice-weekly in-pool exercise and in-heat (Steam or Sauna) stretches (with whirlpool and high-saline pool warm-down) - Heat and being in water both help relieve the pressure on the joints and keep the Fibro from noticing how much you are doing... -, I came up with a daily routine that I do entirely on my (very firm) bed (in place of a bench) and which I did right after taking my morning meds but before waking too much and the Fibro started kicking in fully. At first it was just 5 minutes of stretches but eventually it included other stuff (bicycle kicks and crunches) and lasted as long as 30 before the Fibro would start to shut me down. I even managed to tone and lose weight! The past year however I dealt with months of severe Fatigue so I dropped back to 10 minutes (still enough to loosen me up and keep muscle use during the day from being extra painful), but am finally getting back up to 20 minutes. I read and rest afterwards (kinda Active Meditation) - nobody needs extra post-workout Pain (kind of a deal-breaker).
Before sleep I do a few minutes of the loosening stretches for whatever parts of me are tight or aching.
I hope this helps. Fibro is VERY discouraging towards exercise. It's HARD, and it's always Painful. But as long as the workout pain makes the rest of the day less painful, it makes motivation easier. Personally I am super Tenacious, and I just commit to it, cos in the big picture it's worth it. Remember too - start really really small and build up really slowly - it takes a long time to get to where you can handle 10 minutes of elevated heart-rate and sweating. Changes won't show until you reach that regular plateau - but even a few minutes can make your body looser and improve your days. Good luck.
