That feeling is so real and so valid β when fibromyalgia pain hits hard enough, it can absolutely make you feel physically sick to your stomach. You are definitely not alone in this.
Many MyFibroTeam members describe their pain levels going so far beyond a "10" that it affects them in ways that are hard to even put into words. The body's response to extreme pain can include nausea, sweating, and feeling completely overwhelmed.
A few things that some members have found helpful during intense pain episodes include:
- Applying heat pads to painful areas
- Using a TENS machine for localized relief
- Practicing breathing or meditation techniques to help calm the nervous system
- Talking to a doctor about whether current medications are managing pain effectively
It's worth bringing this up with your doctor, especially if nausea during pain flares is frequent. There may be options to better manage both the pain and the physical reaction to it.
Hang in there β the fact that you're still pushing through says a lot about your strength, even on the hardest days. π
