Get a good mattress topper at least 3inches thick. There are some excellent ones on Amazon for orthopaedic use. Also I got another topper that is more like a duvet cover yet it is fitted. So I put that directly on the mattress and the orthopaedic topper on top. Also I have an orthopaedic pillow. Which I kid you not is amazing. I was lucky with that as I found it brand new at a charity shop. I use a pillow under my knees as I have other bone conditions it takes pressure off the lower back. Also this may sound strange but a maternity pillow. Fantastic. Hope this helps 🌷💕

What a thoughtful question — could a special mattress, like an oscillating air mattress, help with fibromyalgia sleep?

While there isn't specific research on oscillating mattresses for fibromyalgia, sleep quality is a huge challenge. The deep, restorative stages of sleep are often interrupted, leaving the body feeling like it never truly rested.

Some MyFibroTeam members have found comfort through various approaches, including:

- Keeping the bedroom cool and dark
- Using white noise or fans
- Epsom salt baths before bed
- Magnesium supplements or lotion
- Melatonin combined with prescribed muscle relaxers

An air mattress that reduces pressure points could potentially help with pain during the night, which is worth exploring. Pressure relief is a known comfort factor for people dealing with widespread pain.

It's always worth discussing with your healthcare provider, especially since mattress comfort is very personal. What works beautifully for one person might not suit another — but experimenting with sleep environment changes is generally low-risk and can make a real difference!
