@A MyFibroTeam Member I had just elevated C-Reactive Protein too and my rheumatologist said it can be caused by excess fat. Gee, thanks 🙄🤣. I am overweight, but not by a large amount.
@A MyFibroTeam Member my PCP did all of those tests before my diagnosis, as they should. Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of elimination, that is, eliminating every other possibility first. In my case, my bloodwork was perfect. There wasn’t any sign of any vitamin deficiency or autoimmune disease. GI distress is also a symptom of fibromyalgia, so in addition to bloodwork I had two colonoscopies and an endoscopy to rule out any stomach or intestinal issues. All of these things should probably be done before a diagnosis. About 11 months after my diagnosis, I went to Mayo Clinic and had my diagnosis confirmed. They did additional tests and took about a gallon of blood. LOL…
All of that showed perfectly normal blood work, except elevated C-Reactive Protein, which just shows inflammation in the body. Makes sense.
@A MyFibroTeam Member I just do a multivitamin. I have trouble getting myself to take pills, so just having to take one is much more likely to happen 🤣. My nurse practitioner said that that is sufficient for me. I have actually been able to get myself to take it every day for over a week now! I take a women's formula, so it is higher in calcium, vitamin D and magnesium. Not sure if it is just wishful thinking or some sort of placebo effect, but I swear I feel like I have a little more energy over the last few days.
