My daughter has researched Anti-inflammatory alternatives and rosehip was the best one. I have been taking it for two weeks now. This week is the first week I have lowered my dose of my naproxen. So far I'm doing really good. It's early days but we will see. Has anyone ever thought about trying natural remedies? What's your thoughts on this?

Members discussed replacing or supplementing medications with natural remedies for fibromyalgia and chronic pain, with rosehip generating particular interest after the original poster shared early positive results reducing her naproxen use. Several members shared their own supplement routines, including magnesium, turmeric, vitamin D, cod liver oil, collagen peptides, and probiotics, with many noting that gut health plays a key role in managing inflammation and overall wellness. A recurring theme was that natural remedies work best alongside medical care, that results vary from person to person, and that patience and trial and error are essential parts of the process.

I'm loving these answers. I hate taking tablets so that's why supplements are my way forward. And thanks to my daughter she has recommended some good ones. @A MyFibroTeam Member the rosehip so far is going good. It's managing the inflammation well and I've noticed the pain is not as intense. Haven't had a flare up yet whilst I've been on it but it's only been a week. Will keep you updated if you want. Xx

I take magnesium, cod liver oil, rosehip, vitamin b complex, evening primrose oil, vitamin d, I've gone down the natural route for menopause and I also take green tea extract aswell as matcha capsules. It seems to work for me. I don't get ill that often and if I do it only lasts a day. Xx

Hello! I've had Fibromyalgia 16 years now and have had to take Dilaudid for the last 7 of those years. My pain increased significantly over the years, though comorbidities were more likely the cause than "just" fibromyalgia. Osteoarthritis and T2 diabetes are only 2 of those comorbidities.

That said, I still do take several supplements. K2+D3, Zinc, Magnesium, B12, Omega 3, and a 50 billion source of probiotics because your gut health is VERY important. I also take Collagen Peptides in my coffee once a day. If you want to know more about why I take these specific supplements, it's much better for your own personal knowledge to do the research on why they benefit me so much. And they do!

I have had far fewer pain flares since taking the supplements. My "focus time" isn't only a few hours a day anymore. I have better sleep and more energy than I've ever had.

That said, I still have bedbound VBPDs (very bad pain days) as this fibromyalgia pain and osteoarthritis pain are for life. It will never go away, and to be pain-free is a very unrealistic expectation. It will always be there. Always. How you manage it and how you cope with it is the trick.

Btw, the gut is considered the 2nd brain of the body. If it is not in its best health, neither are you. It is well worth your while to do your own research on how important gut health is. Especially for those of us with chronic pain and/or chronic illness.

I could give you my reasons for taking the extra supplements. But it's far better for you (the readers of this post) to research on your own why they benefit me (and/or you) and why I take them.

Sending much light, laughter, and love to you all! I hope you are having the best day possible.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I take rosehip in tablet form. This is much second week now and I can say its actually working for me. I'm going to lower my naprox next week so I only take one a day and see how that is. Xx

Everything that you are taking is wonderful and helpful with many benefits.

Your post about gut health and healthy bacteria is the most valuable as that is really the key to balancing your health.
