I am looking into remedies for my pain that isn’t medicine, because all medications haven’t worked and cause other issues.

Laurie, several years of acupuncture for other conditions. But they could not do the fibromyalgia spots, without having terrible pain. If you do have acupuncture as a practitioner that uses the Japanese shorter needles =less pain.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Well where I used to live you could get it at the doctors surgery I went to since I moved 35 minutes up the road I get told I can't get it its frustrating because I have struggled to find anything that really helps my pain. We are lucky in the UK to get the NHS for free there are really long waits but at least we don't have to pay! I think its disgusting that In the Usa and other countries that you have to pay in this day and age. Health should not be treated the same as a luxury handbag because its a essential thing and not a luxury i really feel bad for you all. X

Has acupuncture from a certified acupuncturist helped with fibromyalgia pain?

Yes, many MyFibroTeam members have tried acupuncture with positive results. Research shows that individualized acupuncture can be a safe and effective option for fibromyalgia pain management.

In studies, people receiving real acupuncture experienced a 41% drop in pain scores after 10 weeks, compared to 27% with simulated treatment. Benefits lasted up to a year, with continued pain reduction and improvements in fatigue, anxiety, and depression.

Here's what members have shared about their experiences:

- One member reported feeling "pretty good" with acupuncture combined with yoga, stretching, and diet changes
- Another always gets relief from their acupuncturist who works on both front and back of the body
- A member found that acupuncture combined with soft tissue massage during physical therapy was helpful

Acupuncture works by calming the nervous system and slowing down pain signals to the brain. It can also improve blood flow and tissue oxygenation. Sessions typically last about 20 minutes, and many people see results after weekly treatments.

Some insurance companies cover acupuncture, though costs can be around $125 per session. It's worth checking with your provider about coverage options.

@A MyFibroTeam Member we don't have to pay here for nhs but if I want accupunture I have to pay for it! Wow it shocks me so much that you have to pay it makes me really angry I know i am not in the same situation it makes me angry for everyone that has to pay for medical care like its a luxury! I feel for all the people that can't afford it there has got to be alot of deaths with people not being able to get medical care and people ending there lives because they are in so much pain! It must of been really hard to find the money for all your kids insurance and yours especially when your kids needed extra care! Wow £3k to have a baby that is disgusting! It feels to me like your being punished by the NHS for being ill/in pain by having to pay for it! Haha only you cooks dinner and cuts your granddaughters hair with a punctured lung you are made of super tough stuff! Lol 💪 💪
Haha I love you getting rid of your husband so you can stare at the eye candy! Haha a bit of wye candy makes everything a bit better I think its funny you and your daughter having the same taste in men! 😄 🤣 😂
Haha high as a kite sometimes its a good thing takes your mind of the pain! I remember when I took my first sleeping tablet I freaked the hell out I thought I was dying lol i couldn't feel my heart beating! I could handle pain meds just not sleeping tablets. But in the end of got used to sleeping tablets! Years ago I took acid i freaked the hell out I hid under the quilt i was thinking someone was trying to kill me haha! 😄 🤣 😂 ❤️ 💙 💜
