Try tonic water before bedtime, it has a certain amount of quinine in it. It can help with cramp and restless leg syndrome

Pineapple is one of my go to’s.
The enzyme bromelain along with potassium helps with cramps. I might still take a THC/CBD combo on occasion, but it has made it where I don’t take much.

And I also take magnesium glycinate, but like most things it does have some med interactions.

Make a note of what you're eating and drinking. Keep a diary . What works for one person does not work for another necessarily . I cannot take pineapple. It makes my stomach churn. I do like the homeopathic Highlands muscle cramps product that's in the tube. I also make sure I don't eat any trigger foods that cause cramps, i e, foods with sugar and high sugar juices like orange juice. Definitely no orange juice or really any other fruit juice because they're all too high in sugar and cause horrible cramps for me.

What can help with muscle cramps throughout your body when over-the-counter medications aren't working?

Muscle cramps are a frustrating part of fibromyalgia. Since over-the-counter options haven't been effective for you, here are some other approaches to consider:

Prescription Medications:
- Muscle relaxants like cyclobenzaprine (now available as Tonmya, a newer formulation)
- Pregabalin (Lyrica) or gabapentin, which calm overactive nerves and may help with muscle-related symptoms
- Other muscle relaxants like carisoprodol (Soma) or orphenadrine for short-term use

Home Remedies and Daily Habits:
- Take lukewarm baths instead of hot ones to prevent skin and muscle tension
- Add oatmeal to bath water for soothing relief
- Wear soft, breathable fabrics like cotton
- Try stress management techniques like deep breathing exercises, since stress can trigger symptoms
- Stick to a regular sleep routine, as sleep disturbances can worsen symptoms
- Listen to your body and rest when needed

When to See Your Doctor:
If your cramping is severe or not improving, reach out to your doctor. A rheumatology specialist can adjust your treatment plan and explore prescription options that might work better for you.

Finding the right combination often takes patience and trial-and-error, as what works for one person may not work for another.
