Is this also some sort of clue that causes other symptoms when one is taken over by a virus and gets fibromyalgia or a fibromyalgia relapse?

I have HEDS hyper-mobility 😘 I’ve been told it’s hereditary. Me and my twin sister both suffer with joint pain these days. We were so flexible in our younger days but paying for it now.

Hope this link helps you understand a little better 💖

Yes some have hyper mobility. But I think that is separate from ,having a virus and coming down with fibromyalgia or some other autoimmune disease. I had a virus before I had polymyalgia rheumatica ,an autoimmune disease that can go into remission. It causes a lot of pain in the larger joints. I contracted viral meningitis, and that led to bad chronic fatigue and pain that lasted almost a year. @A MyFibroTeam Member

I think her rheumatologist is looking at something related to hyper mobility …but not sure what condition that would be. I don’t have that. One of the subsets ,would have hyper mobility as one of their symptoms

Do many people with fibromyalgia have hypermobility?

The search results provided don't contain specific information about hypermobility and its connection to fibromyalgia. While fibromyalgia involves widespread musculoskeletal pain and affects multiple body systems, the relationship between hypermobility and fibromyalgia isn't addressed in the available information.

Does hypermobility relate to viral triggers or relapses?

The connection between hypermobility, viral infections, and fibromyalgia flares isn't covered in the search results. What we do know is that fibromyalgia symptoms can fluctuate, with people experiencing flares when symptoms worsen and periods of remission when symptoms lessen.

If you're experiencing hypermobility alongside your fibromyalgia symptoms, it would be worth discussing with your rheumatologist or healthcare provider. They can evaluate whether there's a connection in your specific case and how it might be affecting your overall symptom management.
