@A MyFibroTeam Member I am very prone to headaches. There are times where I have a headache more days in the month than days that I don't. Thankfully, that is not happening now. Most headaches are linked to chronic facial and neck pain for me. Even on non-headache days, my mouth hurts. It's not dental.

Have you tried wearing sunglasses as a headache starts. I wear them and try to stay in a dimly lit room. I find this calms them down most of the time. Xx

Are headaches a common symptom with fibromyalgia?

Yes, headaches are definitely a common symptom of fibromyalgia. Many people with fibromyalgia experience headaches that can feel different from typical migraines or tension headaches - they just happen "because."

These headaches can:
* Last for days or even over a week
* Occur daily
* Spread from your neck all the way to your face
* Make functioning throughout the day more difficult

A MyFibroTeam member described it well: "Not sure if others have 'fibro headaches,' but I'm on day 3. Not a migraine or tension headache, just... because. It doesn't really matter what the cause is though, they are all miserable."

If you're experiencing persistent headaches, it's worth talking to your doctor about pain relief options. They can help determine if your headaches are related to fibromyalgia or if there might be other factors contributing to them.
