Members confirmed that fibromyalgia commonly occurs alongside IBS, with many sharing their personal experiences of alternating constipation and diarrhea, as well as related symptoms like bloating, pain, and nausea. Several members recommended practical strategies that have helped them manage symptoms, including the low FODMAP diet, high-strain probiotics (24+ strains), staying hydrated with balanced electrolytes, avoiding processed foods and heavy fats, and reading resources like The First Year IBS by Heather Van Vorous. A recurring theme was the importance of getting symptoms checked by a doctor to rule out other conditions, as members shared stories of initially being diagnosed with IBS only to later discover complications like diverticulitis or polyps that required ongoing monitoring and treatment.

It's a bit complicated... as our 'gut' is typically unbalanced, these issues are common. A really good pro-biotic (24 strains + 300 Billion live organisms) is wise. Also, since we're typically Chronically Low in Blood Volume, it can cause Hypovolemia.. especially when having one's 'cycle' - Nausea & Diarrhea can result - then must get to ER for IV Drip Stat! Proper Hydration with Balanced Electrolytes are also essential.

I had I.B.S it is now diverticulitis or now they believe it is something worse. Yet I'm still waiting for a appointment. Always get it checked out. When I was in my early 30's I'd gone in for a colonoscopy. I had to be checked every 6 months as when diagnosed with I.B.S they found polyps 'oh I wasn't expecting that' said the doctor. Then came the diverticulitis, I'm on meds for chronic stomach pain. I'm waiting to go into hospital. I'm not holding my breath.
@joannaLed indeed I can't see her anymore. 👀 thank the good lord.

I wouldn't take medical advice of @A MyFibroTeam Member she thinks ptsd and bpd are not real! So all the other medical professionals are wrong and she is right! Haha what a joke!

Yes it’s called IBS-D…stay away from processed foods with hydrogenated oils, and heavy fats.
I have IBS-C (Constipated then IBS and diarrhea.
Like @A MyFibroTeam Member mentioned, a probiotic with 24 strains helps a lot. And my daughter gets what she mentioned with her periods, nausea and diarrhea.(plus dizzy) She handles that with iron pills and vitamin b’s. For taking iron , make sure there is bloodwork first . My daughter also follows the FODMAP, she has gassy stomach, nausea etc. It has really helped her.
