The ear plugs have been tighter and causing a little pain in my right ear. Like a dunce, I just kept wearing them for several weeks. Four days ago, I started having pain in my upper teeth on that same side, sometimes on the lower teeth, bad pain in my sinus above that on same side. It’s been four days and I’m still having pain even though I stopped using the earplugs. Today the pain is better in the sinus, but that’s it. I don’t feel it if I’m laying down and sleeping… but when I get up and… read more

It sounds like the way you ended up having to lay your head with them in might have pushed your jaw line out enough to really cause tmj. I had the best medical massage therapist found mine out just enought to cause aweful pain and it continues to hit every nerve it relates to, I can try to explain what she did and taught me his to fix it mysiefl and I have several times... Open jaw just enough to put your forefinger (kind of sideways with the pad of your finger toward the front of mouth) right in the middle of the joint between upper and lower..and if you move your finger slightly a bit around that joint front/back you will fell a spot that will hurt so badly it's almost a gut punch..that would mean it's the spot..you out a little pressure and let go,,, give it about 10-15 seconds and open and close your jaw it should be immediate relief.. It truly is a miracle if you can catch that spot and manipulate it, I had severe Al left eat pain for weeks went to ent, was going to put tube in. We decided I would use Flonase a week first then see if it relived it if not then tube?? I thought about that technique and he I had an extremely tender spot I manipulated and half hour later my ear popped and the intense pain I'd had was gone,, my jaw was out just enough I had fluid collected in stato n tube. I have started using earpods less and a small over the ear with extra heavy pads I ordered from Amazon. No matter how expensive or good earplugs they cause a sore area within a couple of weeks and I find I'm having neck issues I can't afford to have due to readjusting head during sleep. Sorry so long but you're you can get some relief
Goods news…nerve shooting pains stopped. Last two days last upper molar hurt to chew on. Now today I could chew very carefully on it. Hoping tomorrow it’s totally gone. Thanks again for everyone’s support, encouragement and prayers. Love you, 🩷Victoria
I have not heard of this, but I’m not entirely suprised.
I’ve read about it a little bit since seeing your post, looks like there are several ways this could potentially aggregate TMJ!
Are you getting more relief now? Not sure what you wear them for at night, but maybe some white noise would help til this is resolved?
I’ve read white noise shouldn’t be used, but I still use it every night. I have trouble keeping earplugs in due to ear canal swelling at night. 🤷♀️🫠
Wishing you some solid night sleeps and relief!
I'm so happy to hear your symptoms are improving. Take care.
Well it would be worth a shot…not sure with my tinnitus though. Thanks again for your helpful suggestions!🩷🦋
