I am Sorry You Both went through this.. I've had it a couple times but was well controlled. Not this time. I had test done in the office and was told its partly do to My tight shoulders and neck pain (flare up) Also because of Fibro. I just never heard that. I started using Arnica Oil on my neck and I am so much better.. Massaging my neck and taking my muscle relaxers has helped. Today is day 17. Far better then I was. It was the worse case I;'ve ever had. Throwing up and room spinning. Did the Elpy Maneuver like 6 times a day. Finally not doing it.. The nausea was worse then morning sickness. Finally feeling myself. Drove for the first time in 16 days. Yeah I am almost completely healed. I just have were I feel a little bit off. I just try to relax and ride the wave. Wishing You Both healing and comfort.. Take Care

I experienced dizziness about two years ago. I had a variety of testing done. Including brain MRI in case it was a blood flow issue. Also, I had ultrasound of my carotid arteries, which are partially blocked, but not enough to cause dizziness I was told. Saw an ENT who diagnosed the dizziness as related to my TMJ disease which I think is part of fibromyalgia. The jaw pain can affect the inner ear was how it was described to me. The TMJ is very close to the inner ear. Unfortunately the medication they gave me caused my blood pressure to go up so it’s untreated. I don’t know if TMJ is related to fibromyalgia, but I think it’s good to explore other options if your dizziness persists. I was concerned about falling. I am 69 so I do not want to fall. My Acupuncturist actually has treated it the best. There’s a point on the bottom of your foot near the ball of the foot in the middle that has helped to take the dizziness away. If I miss a treatment every two weeks the dizziness idoes come back. It’s very mild not daily and easier to manage than when it’s full-blown and I’m afraid to leave the house and walk outside. My dizziness is for shorter periods and oftentimes I forget that I have it. So it has gotten much better with Acupunture. Everyone I’m sure may have a different experience with dizziness, but I think it’s good to talk with your doctor more about it and get other testing in case there is something else wrong. Dizziness can be very hard to diagnose and treat I was told and some people don’t ever get an answer to what causes their dizziness.

Has anyone experienced vertigo with fibromyalgia?

While vertigo isn't specifically mentioned in the experiences shared by MyFibroTeam members in the available information, fibromyalgia does affect the central nervous system and how your brain processes signals. This can lead to various cognitive and sensory symptoms.

Many members report experiencing dizziness, balance issues, and sensory sensitivities that could be related to vertigo-like symptoms. The condition affects multiple parts of the body and can cause a wide range of neurological symptoms.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better today after 17 days! That must have been incredibly challenging. If your vertigo continues or returns, it's worth following up with your doctor to rule out other potential causes and discuss management strategies.

Common symptoms that MyFibroTeam members do report that might relate to your experience include:
- Brain fog and cognitive difficulties
- Sensitivity to light and noise
- Sleep disturbances that can affect balance
- Anxiety, which can sometimes worsen dizziness

Have you noticed if certain triggers make your vertigo worse, like changes in position, lack of sleep, or stress?
