Finally found this image I’d wanted to share with my other post the other day, since I mentioned consistency.

Seeing it was a light bulb moment for me. Especially when we can be subject to our bodies whims.

Consistency with sleep, exercise, nutrition, and all the good things help me tremendously.

And I find that it helps me prepare and lessen the impact of traveling, weather, stress, and other triggers of that nature.

Same as I haven’t been exercising like I should and the current seasonal changes have me unable to stand for any length of time without pain and swelling. Which is pretty extreme for me.

Definitely has been my reminder to push a little more before winter arrives.

Don’t know if that is particularly helpful, but it’s the best I’ve got.

Wishing you much relief, Hector! 💛

Changes in the weather especially thunderstorms makes my pain really bad.

We’re all in the same boat! I just wear more layers. Bundled up, I take Ellen off for a walk. That seems to warm my body and relieve some of the pain.. not moving, makes everything worse!

How can you manage fibromyalgia flare-ups that worsen during rainy season?

Weather changes, especially increased humidity and pressure shifts during rainy seasons, can definitely trigger fibro flares. Many people with fibromyalgia notice their symptoms worsen with weather changes.

Here are some strategies that might help:

Lifestyle adjustments:
- Keep your environment dark and quiet when possible to reduce overstimulation
- Use a dehumidifier indoors to control moisture levels
- Warm blankets and fluffy socks (heated in the dryer) can provide comfort during flares

Physical care:
- Gentle stretching or foam rolling when your body tightens up
- Consider yoga or light exercise when you're able
- Regular massage of soft tissue areas

Preventive measures:
- Pay attention to foods that might trigger inflammation - research which foods are good or bad for joint pain
- Establish consistent sleep routines to help your body cope better
- Practice meditation and breathing exercises (inhale slowly through your nose for three counts, exhale through your mouth)

During active flares:
- Rest without guilt - flares sometimes just need time to pass
- Apply heat where it feels soothing
- Reduce activities temporarily and adjust expectations

The key is learning your personal triggers and preparing when you know weather changes are coming.
