I often wander if my pain, fatigue etc caused from fibromyalgia… especially after breast cancer, thyroid cancer I had recently, I often warry when my pain is too much.
Have you had the same thought and if yes, what do you do about it?
Hi Kate..that’s always an ongoing question. My way of checking is to see if it gets worse or soon goes away .
I live in a small town with very few specialist too. My doctors are at least 1 1/2 hours away from my house. It is worth the drive to have doctors who know what they are doing
I often wonder if my primary care dr is missing something. I live in a rural area, and it is hard to find specialists within even two hours of me. I feel like he tried a few blood tests and just said I don't know so it must be Fibromyalgia. Very frustrating.
I did. When I stated having severe dizziness with frequent falls, shuffling of feet, slowed speech. I knew this was not fibro so I went to my neurologist. She did a lot of tests and even sent off some hereditary genetic labs. Turns out the genetic labs showed I have cerebellar ataxia, which causes severe dizziness, unstable gait and many other neuro symptoms that are progressive. There is no cure for it but the good news is that it does not cause pain.
I live in a metropolitan area and it is still hard to find drs who understand fibro. Had breast cancer this year, 3 surgeries and now a med that worsens my symptoms. I question everything every day.
