Members shared their experiences with difficulty regulating body temperature, with many unsure whether to attribute the symptoms to perimenopause, menopause, or fibromyalgia itself, as the two often overlap. Several members described rapid and extreme shifts between freezing cold and intense hot flashes, sometimes within minutes, with some finding temporary relief through layering clothing, using fans, or considering hormone replacement therapy despite hesitations about potential side effects. A recurring theme was the frustration and embarrassment of sweating profusely or shivering in rooms where others feel comfortable, with one male member humorously coining the term manopause to describe his own temperature regulation struggles with fibromyalgia.

For my part it's definitely not menopause. I'm a male with fibromyalgia and I absolutely have trouble with maintaining my body temperature. I call it manopause.

I've heard that hormone replacement therapy works well but do you know if there is side effects?

I do! It is so embarrassing to be sweating while everyone else seems to be comfortable or freezing either one. No happy medium

We have several body systems that are Dysregulated, this is only one thereof... must identify & properly Treat the underlying pathogen, then work to right these. Check out brilliant Dr. J. Teitelbaum's books... see my countless prior posts...
