Members widely confirmed that muscle spasms are a common and painful part of living with fibromyalgia, with many describing spasms occurring all over the body including the back, legs, hands, neck, and even the stomach. Several members shared helpful strategies like taking magnesium supplements, staying well hydrated, using heat or ice, stretching, foam rolling, and topical treatments like Voltaren ointment. A recurring theme was the importance of tracking triggers like overexertion, stress, and dehydration, and advocating for proper medical evaluation since spasms can sometimes signal other conditions.

Just because something is over the counter does not mean there are not side effects..google ADVIL, ASPRIN, TYLENOL and see what I mean..people also tend to take more. They kill your stomach, your liver, or your kidneys plus
God knows what else.

Mine is my back, shoulder, stomach, and legs. With my back, it’s bc it gets so tight. I ice it, heat it, and use a foam roller to massage it. With my shoulder, I ice it, heat it, and stretch it. My stomach and legs, I stretch. But, for me, it tends to be really bad for a few weeks, then settles down.

When they happen, quite painful. Neck, lower back, legs. I try to keep my fluids up as the spasms can happen with dehydration. I felt it's related to stress.

I use to get them all the time. It seem either repetitious use of muscles (like peeling potatoes) or resistance on the muscles (opening a tight jar) would trigger a spasm. I would have it on and off all that day and have to sit quiet. I started taking magnesium and I don't get them much any more. There's different forms of magnesium so do some research and experiment which works best for you. I take natural calm (magnesium carbonate). I hope it works for you. It's misable getting muscles spasms. Feel Better soon! ☺️
