Be careful who you go to.. there are some shysters out there. Especially the ones that advertise on TV. That's a scam. However, I've been to a doctor Shounuck Patel in Orange County and he has helped. You might also want to Google Dr centeno, the founder of regenex. He has a great website. He's the one who started all this PRP years ago and he's opened clinics all over. Anyway, it is expensive and one treatment is not enough. You also have to be willing to not take NSAIDs and certain other drugs before the procedure for it to be effective. And yes, the procedure is painful and then you have to wait for weeks or a month or more to see if you get any relief. There is another procedure called a tenex procedure.. I have never had that but it's supposed to help tendons so you might want to find out about it. Some other people on here have had the tenex procedure. That's how I found out about it but I have never had it. I ask Dr Patel about it and he said I was not a candidate and it would not help me.

I don't remember actually right now if it was PRP or Prolotherapy but it was painful. Through the years I had countless injections of steroid into my left thumb wrist which helped but eventually wore away the soft tissue. I could not find any hand specialist to help me after that and I searched. Eventually I went back to the hand surgeon who had jammed me in the palm and he recommended a styloidectomy. I consented and actually it helped a tremendous amount.

I actually had the tenex procedure on both feet for my fibromas. And yes seems every chiropractor around now has a nurse practitioner who took a weekend course and does prp. No thanks!
