Members shared widely different experiences with Cymbalta for fibromyalgia, with some finding it helpful for pain, depression, and anxiety, while others reported severe side effects like diarrhea, insomnia, agitation, weight gain, and intense withdrawal symptoms that lasted months or even years. Several members emphasized that antidepressants affect people differently due to individual body chemistry, with some noting they are ultra-rapid metabolizers or experience opposite reactions to medications, and many highlighted the importance of very slow tapering when discontinuing these drugs. A recurring theme was the exhausting trial-and-error process of finding medications that work without unbearable side effects, with some members choosing to stop all medications entirely and manage symptoms as they arise rather than endure ongoing adverse reactions.

There is a very small group of people who respond well to meds like Cymbalta and Lyrica. But, most people don' t get good results. They do horrible things to your body as well as being nasty when you try to wean off. They are most psych meds and not for pain.

Yes not good for me either. Pharmacist actually said it was too much the zoloft I was on at the time. Too much. Yes you have to wean off of it. They always say they're not addictive but that's not true.

Cymbala had me bouncing off the walls. In 2005 I had a young doctor wanting to learn more about Fibromyalgia. He tried me on many things. Cymbalta. I would lay down then a few minutes later I'd get up and walk around for a bit then repeat. It made my skin crawl. I'd already tried Lyrica for my migraines. I gained 25 lbs in 6 weeks and I was 10 feet tall and bullet proof. I'd gone to Chicago to headache clinic. I'm 5'4 and blond. I toured Chicago by myself. I ended up in what I found out later were very dangerous areas. I was lucky. I was also very argumentative.
But while I was seeing the young doctor he tried me on many things including many pain meds. It's how I learned about about Pharmacokinetics and the different metabolizer phenotype. I'm an ultra rapid metaboliser. Many drugs flush thru me. I thought over years was getting placebo. I have allergic reactions, opposite reactions and non reactions to medications. It's genetic. Unfortunately the larger population that is playing at being doctors- elected politicians. Don't know that everyone is not the same.

Yes I took it and got off it too. Antidepressants can cause an addiction response and the you have to be weaned of them. I am still one though. Citalopram 40 MG. I think it helps with bottoming out feeling a bit. I don't want to say don't take anything because they do stabilize a certain amount.
