Members rallied around someone whose legs gave way unexpectedly, with many sharing similar experiences of buckling knees, sudden falls, and speech difficulties like word-finding trouble, stuttering, or jumbled sentences that often worsen with fatigue or overexertion. Several members offered practical strategies that have helped them, including staying on a stationary bike routine to maintain leg strength, taking thiamine (Vitamin B1) supplements, using prednisone for severe flares, and learning to recognize warning signs before episodes occur. A recurring theme was the emotional comfort of not being alone in these frightening symptoms, the importance of pacing oneself and not pushing too hard, and finding humor and grace when navigating the unpredictable challenges of living with fibromyalgia.

I’m sorry to hear that…my legs are ok ….i bought a stationary bike a few years ago and have. Forced myself to use it at least 1-4 times a week for 5 or 10 min to keep my muscles tone and strength up….but my words a lot of times come out wrong or jumbled my older kids get a good laugh and we all look for the humor in it , but sometimes inside it worry me what’s going on in my brain…Hang in there!

Yes I've had my leg giveaway one time I was at the grocery store and my leg gave way completely luckily I was holding on to the grocery cart. I've had my knee give way while walking luckily I grabbed onto a fence to keep from going down. One time the pain was so bad when it gave way I let out a yell. I didn't want to do that out in public but I couldn't help it.
