Many community members related to the struggle of waking up at night and being unable to fall back asleep due to pain, anxiety, and racing thoughts. Several members shared helpful strategies including prayer, rosary apps with soothing music, reading, playing simple games on a tablet, and CBD gummies to ease back into sleep. A recurring theme was the comfort of knowing others face the same challenge, along with gentle reminders to avoid picking up phones, as screen time can make the brain more alert.

This happens to me frequently. I find that the more I worry that I can’t go back to sleep the more awake I get. I’m retired so since I don’t have to get up to go to work I just keep my tablet ne’er the bed bc then I don’t have to turn on the light and start reading something light usually I will fall back to sleep within 15 minutes. In Catholic and I have a very soothing rosary app with gentle background music. That almost always soothes me to sleep.

Praying is what gets me back to sleep. The devil doesn’t like me praying I guess 😆

Yes! Suggestion, use a free app or try saying your prayers to get back to sleep.
God Bless!

I have this all the time! It’s difficult to explain especially to family and friends who are really active and think the answer to it all is ‘go for a walk, join a Pilates or yoga club’ etc., I still do volunteering at a charity shop several times a week, it’s hard graft and I come home exhausted and in pain, but it keeps me going because it’s a very worthwhile cause, I don’t have to think about what I do, no paperwork! At 71 I keep pushing myself, I’m fortunate that I can visit a chiropractor for re-alignment and advice. Depression, niggly pains, anxiety, and brain fog has blighted my life but I’ve done many tough things and have two lovely boys, and two gorgeous granddaughters! Sometimes I don’t know how I have survived,
I don’t know how I hide the fibro problems but I do because most people don’t understand it and I’m done with trying to explain to them why I’m tired all the time, can’t sleep, they think it’s funny or rude to fall asleep when in the middle of entertaining and can’t believe I can fall asleep at the loudest of concerts!!
I’m sure many other sufferers battle through it all and I take my hat off to those struggling to cope. We are amazing at what we do and achieve despite the challenges of our invisible disability!
I’m proud of me and you should be proud of yourselves!🥰🥰🥰🌸
