It’s impacting our marriage and I don’t know what to do. Is there any alternative therapies that might help. Or, vitamin/ supplements too. Please could really use any tips or tricks to help.
God bless!

Members offered a wide range of tips for managing mood swings related to fibromyalgia, which they recognized as a real and frustrating symptom that affects relationships. Several members shared that music, walking in nature, and dancing brought emotional relief, while others pointed to supplements like ashwagandha, lavender, magnesium, and vitamin D as helpful tools. A recurring theme was the importance of good sleep, self-awareness around mood triggers, warning loved ones when a tough moment is coming, and seeking support through therapy or counseling.

Look up cognate reshuffling on Google Irishwife. I have not slept for years even when treated by a sleep clinic. I have used this idea for a week and slept every night since. You have to persevere with the idea for awhile and you will fall asleep. Lack of sleep causes irritability. There is not an instant cure for irritability Irishwife you have to spend months training your body to calm down. And do different exercise’s several times a day. The second you feel irritated around someone walk away, deep breath for five minutes, lots on you tube and google about this. Many times a day do the following. Deep breath for five minutes, use meditation and hypnotherapy from you tube to learn how to calm your body. Do what ever exercise you can however small and slowly build it up. This might be walking to the front door, then twice and so on until you can reach the end of the road. If your well enough do more, it’s very hard to go swimming and not feel relaxed. Find something simple not sexual you and your husband might enjoy. Having hands or feet massaged, or perhaps shoulders. This will help to calm and bring about the feeling of closeness. Lavender oil is calming use this. The most obvious thing is not to drink alcohol which you probably don’t, but this s associated with aggression and irritability. Not many people can bath especially using oils and candles and not feel calm after. The key is getting your body used to being calm so eventually you can create the feeling through your mind. Therapy is great and it works but it takes more than five minutes, months even years. Change will require a lot of effort whatever you choose to do. I hope this is seen as helpful not patronising.

Do you have a diagnosis? Without knowing what is going on, its hard to help. I love Motown music (I'm old!) So, when I put that on, I get to dancing around and that puts me in a happy mood. My morning gratitude prayer helps to remind me of all the things I am grateful for and that starts my day out on the right foot. Walking in nature helps me. Think of things you love to do and try and do some of them. My girlfriend blasts her favorite music when she has to clean, but doesn't want to...that puts her in a good mood and she goods when she is done. If it is really bad, you might want to see if you have major depressive disorder (MDD.) I don't know how bad your fibro is or what else you are dealing with, but, I know I started feeling better when I changed my thinking from all the things I couldn't do to the things I could do...even if it was for just a few minutes. Your mindset is everything. Hope this helps.

Do you have mood swings? Depression? Might want to talk with your doctor about it. Please go for marriage counseling together. A good therapist should be able to help! Don’t wait!

What works for me is walking. I go for walk with a friend 3 times a week. It’s like free therapy and my mood is a lot better afterwards.

When I was weaning off antidepressants in2020, my naturopath prescribed ashwagandha and lavender. I still take both. Ashwagandha promotes a good sleep and lavender reduces stress and helps protect the liver.
