Members deeply connected over the question of spending most of their time seated or lying down, with many sharing that they must rest frequently due to severe pain, exhaustion, and pressure sensitivity, while also acknowledging that gentle movement and stretching, when possible, help prevent their symptoms from worsening. Several members described the delicate balancing act of pacing themselves, doing small tasks followed by rest periods, and learning not to push through pain after experiencing painful consequences that last for days. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of fibromyalgia, including the frustration of being unable to do what they once could, the constant discomfort even while resting, and the isolation of managing an illness with no relief or cure.

No! because of my other illnesses I get paralyzed and I can't move at all. So that is why I walk a lot and I am in less pain....when you don't move your body then the pain gets worse.

I agree Donna I do a little and then rest a little then do a little more. It's very hard to make yourself sit down as we want to do it all like we used to in one day!

That’s right you got to keep that blood flowing.

Sometimes I am unable to get out of bed, but this is more down to the fatigue than the pain.
I try to move around as much as I am able to, because it makes me feel worse if I stay still, and gentle movement is good for us.
