Hi Beverley, I had acupuncture some time ago. It was not a positive experience for me. The few sessions I had, I didn't feel any improvement of any kind. I thought, maybe I needed more sessions, but I had to stop. Everywhere a needle had been inserted, I got a rather large itchy bump. Turned out I was allergic to the metal needles. I've heard some people swear by acupuncture. It didn't work for me, even in the short time I did it! Come to think of it, I had acupuncture many years before, I don't remember any improvements at that time either. My sister, on the other hand is a true believer. She was the one who suggested it. She also went on to apprentice in acupuncture. But she didn't stick to it. Now that I think of it, the first time, he didn't use metal needles, I don't know what this Chinese acupuncturist used, because, I didn't break out in itchy bumps, or I didn't have the metal allergy at that time. Still, it did nothing for me. Sorry 😞. I'm not much help. I've given you conflicting information. But, as my old Chinese doctor told me, with my condition, don't rule anything out. Try any and everything, if you feel it will help in some way. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Leave no stone unturned! I really loved his philosophy, he believed in both Eastern and western medicine! So, the choice is your's.But like I said acupuncture treatments need time to show results, if any. You probably won't feel any different with just one treatment, it's not a magic pill! If anything it's a gamble and an investment with no guarantees. Tough decision. So far you've gotten two...'didn't do a thing', yet I know people who say otherwise. Anyways, good luck with whatever you choose to do. Perhaps more will respond and help you make your decision. Thea2 😊

Acupuncture helped with my migraines and muscle spasms, but not for my fibro pain. When he would put the needles in, the pain would just move somewhere else. That being said, everyone is different and it may not hurt to try, especially if you are having other symptoms like migraines.
