I’ve had a dozen surgeries and every single time, getting an IV is horrific. Thanks for your reply. I wonder if this is due to fm? Sorry…I know how much it SUCKS!

I think it's several factors. Age, low thyroid and lower body core temp. I'm usually 96.8 to 97.6. If my temp is 99-Im sick. There seems to be more information on this all the time. I just make sure to hydrate ALOT, but even that doesn't always help. This last phlebotomist was so sweet. Was worried about hurting me. I told her "trust me, I can take the pain. I just had blood draw (attempt) on Friday. Vein collapsed-no other veins to get blood from. Returned this Wed- took 3 tries, using a butterfly needle. The blood came into tube at a drop per beat of my heart!! I am always hard to get blood from. Always!!
