I will add,, i asked for specific tests to be done,, ie looking for ANA(lupus), rheumatoid arthritus, psoraiatic arthritus, on and on and on,,, the one thing they did find with me is that i do exhibit the HLA-B27 gene which is found in people with ankloysing spondylitus,, which i do not have

Make sure you taper off the Paxil. It's one the hardest SSRIs to withdraw from. 💜

Usually fibromyalgia is diagnosed after ruling out other health conditions which resembles fibromyalgia symptoms. For many fibromyalgia sufferers takes years to receive their diagnosis. By that time they have gone through a lots of medical testing, psychological evaluation, treatment attempts. For instance testing for Multiple Schlerosis, Lyme disease, digestive diseases, neurological diseases and many other. Doctors asks for multiple different blood work for inflammation or vitamin deficiencies, or many other problems. MRIs, CTs, dermatologis, opthalmologist, etc. since fibromyalgia symptoms are so varied. If you have no medical history, no medical work ups trying to rule out other causes and your doctor never ordered any, then you need to find someone else. Regardless if you are younger or older, fibromyalgia symptoms can be very, very concerning and they cannot be dismissed without thorough exams. Unfortunately there is no fibromyalgia test approved yet in medicine, so doctors can only go by ruling out other medical conditions based on your symptoms, as far as I know.

I did taper off for almost 4 months. I’ve only been completely off for about 7-8 weeks. My doctor put me on Buspirone to help for a few weeks to a couple months.

I was told I had it many years ago with no testing.

Right now I’m struggling with going off Paxil after 20 years of being on it. Side effects are cruel. Anyone else gone off antidepressants?
