Are there any new treatments?
Hello Mary851, I have been taking pregabalin for many years, on the pain chart I would say it went
from a 10 to 8 or 7 now. Getting up and moving your body of course at those times when you can.
Trying to keep a positive attitude, continue to live , love, laugh, in spike of what our bodies and minds
may be experiencing. My primary doctor once said to me, "most of my patients (fibromyalgia) come in
dragging , complaining, etc." I have always been a person who love laughing so he hears me in his waiting room and he says "I know that laugh anywhere." Of course it works out that whenever I have an appointment I am not in pain, but there are times I am in a fog, those times I know I am talking less, laughing much less! Let your down time be your down time, once you feel some better to move around my advice is to get up and go for a walk, do hobbies, go to dinner, clean, cook, etc. until you can't then it's more down time right! remember it's a cycle. Hang in their Mary851 and I hope you find some kind of relief!
Hi Mary 🌹
Healthrising.org is a good resource for treatment options for ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia. Also you can watch ME TV You Tube channel for Dr Ric Arseneau talk on medication and treatment decisions for Fibromyalgia. 💜
IMHO myofascial massage is the most effective and safe treatment for me, not a new treatment though. The newest are probably hyperbaric oxygen, medical marijuana and LDN.
Hi Mary ❤️
For chronic pain, I tried low dose Naltrexone (LDN) . Although it's worked well for me, of course it doesn't work for everyone! I also take gabapentin for nerve related problems. Hope you find something that works for you . Hugs
Deb 😘
GailTrotter. I take namenda for atypical trigeminal neuralgia
I have been on the drug Namenda for a month. I have seen improvement in my pain. Increasing dose this week.
