Thermals drive me crazy so I use cotton leggings instead, layer lose stuff upper body, knit gloves with technology fingers I also layer with flip up mittens. Sheeps wool drives me crazy so I use alpaca instead, working on socks, alpaca is very warm and soft, helps to wick away moisture and antimicrobial.
Waterproof boots are good for snow and rain. I like doc Martin styles boots unless I actually need cold temp rated snow boots. I won't waste my money on fashion snow boots, less durable and warm 💯
leg warmers also a help. I get long ones and put over my leggings.
