Lately I’ve been hearing a “whooshing” sound in my ear and also it sounds like I can hear my pulse in my ear as well. Just wondering if anyone else have experienced a similar symptom? And if so what did the doctor diagnosed it as? I’m going to see my pcp tomorrow just a little worried and google doesn’t help at all.

Members responded warmly to the question about tinnitus and whooshing sounds as possible fibromyalgia symptoms, with many sharing that they experience similar sounds including ringing, whooshing, and hearing their own heartbeat. Several members suggested helpful steps like reducing caffeine, trying white noise or calming sounds like rain to ease the ringing, and looking into loop earplugs for busy environments. A recurring theme was the importance of seeing a doctor, with one member sharing that their doctor ordered a carotid artery ultrasound to rule out heart-related causes, which came back normal.

Yes. It's a horrible sound when in a quiet room. Nights are worse. I put radio on and music when at night time and when working to help distract 😌

I used to be able to listen to peoples conversations across the room in a busy pub now a few people can sound deafening. I got a pair loop ear plugs to block out excess noise and work great

Yes, I too hear a whooshing. When I mentioned it to my doctor he said, out of caution whenever a patient mentions this he has to schedule a carotid artery ultrasound… came back normal. So just thinking gotta be another damn symptom of fibro🙄.

Alot of things can cause tinnitus. Excess noise. Alcohol, stress, etc.

Not alot can do unfortunately. They recommend using different colour noises to help. Or things like rain. Water flowing etc. Anything that can make tou relax of focus on to distract form the ringing.

Caffeine is a big no no for tinitus.

Look into Genko biloba
