How Many Of Us Here Have Sleep Apnea?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I did the sleep study test few months ago. I forgot about it, then I’m told I do not have sleep apnea. But I do have trouble sleeping and staying asleep sometimes. Not sure if I should retest? I get fatigue a lot during the day.

Hi there, I would suggest trying to retest. I have sleep apnea, RLS, and Rem issues and only found that out after 2 different sleep studies..Fatigue is extremely part of Fibro..Believe me..It is no joke. I tried a CPAP machine..didn't help but still exhausted from the fibro

I do. I had the sleep study done in Oct/Nov 2021. Was dxd w/ severe obstructive sleep apnea and got a CPAP machine. Funny thing, I'm still fatigued and my sleep doctor said with fibromyalgia, the fatigue doesn't really go away. It might get a little better but it's more important that you're not lacking the oxygen anymore. I do notice the few days here and there I go without the CPAP, I am more tired than the ones I sleep with the CPAP mask. I end up having to take naps in the afternoon I'd said probably 3 or 4 out of 7 days of the week. Maybe retake the test with a different Dr.? Good luck hun.

I used to wake up gasping for air a few times a month. Then I started taking thiamine and those episodes stopped. Treating with thiamine to reverse deficiency is tricky. People often feel worse before better, so they stop, thinking they don't need it, only to have symptoms persist. Such was the case for me. It has taken 4 years to realize I was low and really needed thiamine, and when I had a "paradoxical" reaction that I just needed to keep going with it. https://www.drberg.com/blog/sleep-apnea-is-a-nu...

I have recently added magnesium to my bedtime routine and it helps me stay asleep. Before, I used to wake up every half hour and now I wake up once or twice a night
