Members connected deeply over the shared experience of leg heaviness and tightness, describing it as feeling like gravity pulling them down, walking through molasses or tar, or having weights strapped to their legs that make each step progressively harder. Several members shared practical coping strategies including taking frequent breaks to sit or lie down with feet elevated, starting mornings slowly with gentle stretches and holding onto walls for stability, and avoiding frustration by pausing when energy runs low. A recurring theme was the progression of symptoms over time, with many experiencing muscle spasms, tingling, numbness, electric shock sensations, and a gradual worsening of mobility that makes everyday tasks like grocery shopping increasingly challenging.

Just can’t believe you all feel the same way with your legs ! I am exactly the same as you all describe - like walking with weights on your legs , like gravity pulling down, wading through concrete etc etc ! My walking is gradually getting much worse because of this! ! Tulip your early morning is exactly the same as mine ! On a lighter note - so funny that gif Deb posted! I love the humor on this site !!

@A MyFibroTeam Member, Good analogy.
The first time I described this to my doctor I described it as ... it feels I'm walking in a pool of thick molasses or tar.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, Yes. I try not to get out of bed right away. I try some gentle stretches and veryl slowly get up hold on to the walls not to fall. Slowly and gently wlk my way to a new day which usually starts in the bathroom. Extra careful there and my muscles and joints begin to thaw ... rushing is never helpful.
At other times, I also experience that. I sit and take a break. the key for me has been NOT feeling frustrated, sit and pause until I regain energy meaning the WEIGHTS u mentioned feel lighter so I can continue walking.
Take care. 💜🌷

Yes my legs go very tight, it actually affects my legs and feet alot. I tingle, have a vibration sensation, electric shock feelings from my neck all the way down to my toes.
In the past my legs have give up and I can hardly walk, from my lower back it feels as if something is dragging me back or dwon, a very strange feeling. They also go numb. That's how I found out there was something wrong with me 23 years ago.

My legs feel like regular but after I walk a long distance, my legs spasms and ache. I walk, my step length grows smaller with each step. Only thing that helps is laying down, putting my feet up.
