Members enthusiastically shared their favorite comedy shows for managing fibromyalgia pain, with classic sitcoms like Golden Girls, Seinfeld, Big Bang Theory, Everybody Loves Raymond, and British comedies such as Keeping Up Appearances, Are You Being Served, and Vicar of Dibley emerging as clear favorites. Several members emphasized that rewatching familiar shows provides comforting distraction without requiring concentration, with one member noting that shows on repeat actually calm the central nervous system, while others appreciated gentle humor over mean-spirited sarcasm. A recurring theme was nostalgia for older comedies and disappointment that many beloved British shows are no longer easily accessible, though members found creative solutions including PBS, streaming services like Britbox, and DVDs to keep enjoying the programs that bring them relief and joy.

I used to watch Keeping Up appearances and it was funny but I saw every episode many times and they don't show it here anymore at least I haven't seen it. Another one I used to watch was Judy Dench in As Time Goes By and A Fine Romance. I like Judy Dench.

I do this, I was reading watching shows on repeat actually calms the central nervous system, I have watched the following series at least 6 times all the way through for this reason. Call the midwives, Anne with an E, Lark Rise to Candleford , The Larkins, and Ted Lasso. I also choose these because of the kindness shown to each other in these shows. I’ve grown tired of mean sarcasm in past sitcoms. I’m enjoying the shift in tv sitcoms. I want to root and cheer for everyone. Laughing “at” people gets old fast for me.

I believe the actress that played in Waiting for God, Stephanie Cole, also played Doc Martin's aunt on Doc Martin which was another good show. There was a comedy called One foot in the Grave but I never saw it.
