I get pain all over my entire body on both sides. But the worst is my calves, they hurt when I walk, even at rest they hurt and thump. Anyone have these same symptoms in their calves also?!

Members responded to someone experiencing severe calf pain by sharing a wide range of potential causes and relief strategies, including checking medications like statins for side effects, considering neuropathy as a possible diagnosis, and exploring treatments such as Gabapentin, muscle relaxers like Flexeril, CBD ointment, Voltaren salve, heating pads, and Bengay. Several members described living with similar chronic leg pain since childhood, once dismissed as growing pains but later understood as fibromyalgia or neuropathy, and emphasized the importance of gentle daily movement, firm massage, staying hydrated with Pedialyte, and working closely with doctors to rule out underlying conditions. A recurring theme was the frustration of finding relief when standard treatments don't work or cause unwanted side effects, met with solidarity and encouragement to keep advocating for answers and comfort.

watch your scripts- there are some common ones (like statins) that can cause cramping in the lower leg

Thanks everybody!! I so appreciate your input! I don’t take statins so it’s not that and this started on and off at least a month ago but during that time I haven’t had any of my meds changed. There are two things I go that sometimes help is the heating pad and then I just rub very hard Back and forth hard and that helps too but my arm gets tired!!
Definitely will ask my doctor tomorrow!! Thanks again everybody!!

Nancy, I have had tightness in my calves since I was a little girl. Back then they called it growing pains. I still have it today. I've had xrays, nerve conduction studies, etc. and no one can figure out what is wrong. The only thing that helps is when my husband just pounds on them and it releases the tightness. I wish I had an answer for you. Hope you get to find out what it is. Take care!

I get them before getting up any time I don't treadle my spinning wheel for at least an hour the day before. They need gentle exercise daily. I keep voltarin salve on my night table.
