I get that pain too, and my ribs ache. If I’m not completely flared up, I use a physical therapy role. I lay my back on the roll and it stretches my spine & ribs. I get the best relief if I do this after bathing.

I have pain between my shoulder blades. I also have spinal stenosis in my neck area. I'm not sure which is causing the problem, that or the fibro.

Yes, I only do the roll in between flares. I tend to do what I can to be comfortable. If the shower hurts, just spot clean with a soft, warm washcloth. Dry shampoo is gentle and better than washing my hair daily. I’ve also switched to clothes that are soothing on my skin. Seams and texture really bother me when I’m flaring. There are so many new fabric choices besides cotton. I love my bamboo bed sheets.
