Members connected over the challenge of distinguishing fibromyalgia-related hot flashes from menopause symptoms, with many sharing that they experience both conditions simultaneously and suspect fibro makes menopause symptoms significantly worse. Several members offered practical strategies for managing severe sweating and hot flashes, including keeping frozen cloths or ice packs in the freezer to place on pulse points, using natural remedies like sage, staying hydrated, wearing breathable clothing, and working with doctors to find suitable treatments like topical estrogen (though some noted blood disorders prevent hormone use). A recurring theme was the exhausting and unpredictable nature of hot flashes that can last 30 to 45 minutes, drench clothing, and persist well into one's 70s, 80s, or even 90s, with members offering solidarity and humor while navigating this frustrating aspect of aging with chronic illness.

I knew an old lady in her 80s or 90s and she still had them. YIKES!
Sorry But you are never too old .
If hormones(or whatever) are out of whack it's going to happen.
But 80s and 90s I know!!! Come on give a lady a break huh???

@A MyFibroTeam Member Sage is great for hot flashes and sweats.
If you like it and are not sensitive to it.

I can only say that it must be a part of your conditions so the best thing to do is try not to wear anything too clingy and where you can, keep your room well aired! It might help to use a humidifier in the room you are in as it will cool the air a little and stop the air drying your body and maybe help to stop the sweating a little!

Exactly... Men don't know what hot flashes feel like. It's not as simple as saying your hot.
