I did 6 weeks of ketamine infusion this summer. They recommend going several times a week but the infusions are around 7 hours and i couldnt miss more than one day of work a week.

Unfortunately, i didnt find them helpful for more than a day after each treatment. It’s a wonderful day, but that was all I got. The nurse said that sometimes people don’t notice the full affects right away and that she’s had patients who didnt notice a difference until a month had gone by.

I think the results can vary person to person. As far as the procedure goes, its very simple. You are infusied by IV with the ketamine solution on a slow drip for 7 hours. They put me in a super comfy recliner and i slept almost the whole time. The ketamine can make a person feel nauseous, so if it does you, ask for medicine. You’ll know it’s in your system because ketamine makes you feel drunk. Towards the end of the infusion you may experience some anxiety, like i did, but i just requested IV anti-anxiety medicine. Apparently, it’s from the ketamine.

Afterwards, i was very sleepy and relaxed. I felt like my muscles were almost numb, but I would imagine thats how it feels to not have constant pain.

I have no idea how my reaults would have changed if i had been able to go two or three times a week, but im also not sure I could’ve afforded it. My insurance approved the proceedures, but I’ve paid about $700 plus the $70 per office visit.

I cant tell you if it would be worth it for your own situation, just that it was unsucessful for mine. Ask your doctor and their billing department lots of questions.

Good luck!!
