Trying to see if there is a connection between traumatic events & fibromyalgia.

Google searches such as inheriting trauma or trauma changing DNA and even biblical inheriting sins DNA.

The DNA doesn't change but the gene expression can (Epigenetics).
It shows that getting treatment for trauma can literally save a future generation so it's very hopeful.

The attached link is to an article that does a great job of summarizing the technical information and goes a step further in explaining how we have a lot of power to stop the cycle.

The article does use a hyperspecific type of addiction as an example but if you replace that with your particular trauma you'll get the concept.

I think we can all agree that this is a very complex, multifaceted disease.

I believe a person may be born with a genetic predisposition to fibromyalgia and the trauma is what triggers the genetic predisposition to be expressed. I also believe that the personality predisposition of a person may contribute. For instances, I was always a very sensitive person and very sensitive to other people's emotions and to the environment around me. Therefore stress and trauma may have had a more profound affect on my physical health.

There was a programme on UK television and it said our ancestors who were injured in battle or nexperienced horrible trauma had what is called trauma markers on their dna where the trauma had altered the dna of victims. They think this dna damaging trauma is then passed down their lineage. I cant remember the programme name just those bits.

Yes, verbal abuse and physical abuse.

But from as far back as I can remember I was always getting painful cold sores. In my opinion, Fibro does not come from trauma however trauma can be what opens the door to the apparent manifestation of the Fibro that is already in our bodies.
