Is it just me or the less I move the worse the pain gets, and the more I exercise the more pain I also get. It is like keeping a balance between the two smh

Members validated the frustrating reality of fibromyalgia pain being triggered both by too much rest and too much activity, describing it as a delicate balancing act and a never-ending cycle. Several members shared practical strategies including setting alarms to alternate between movement and rest, choosing meaningful exercise despite inevitable pain, walking short distances daily, and practicing pacing to find what their individual bodies can tolerate. A recurring theme was the trial-and-error process of discovering personal limits, with members emphasizing that while finding balance is difficult and imperfect, intentional movement paired with rest breaks offers the best chance at maintaining good days.

There is a fine line to maintaining “Good Days”. It took me a while to figure this out. As with you, I also experienced pain, either sitting around doing nothing or exercising. I chose to keep exercising, cause if your going to be in pain why not have it mean something/have benefits. I was watching an episode of Joe Rogan, when the topic of “The Flow Chart” was being discussed and it made so much sense to the predicament we all find ourselves in.
This video explains “The Flow” and how to maintain it.

Exactly! That is exactly what it’s like. I just can’t believe that we have to go through this

Absolutely! A balance is important. If I spend too much time sitting I lock up and become stiff and sore and can even swell. If I get up and move around too much and I'm overdoing it and cause more pain that will last for several days. But it can be difficult trying to find that balance. I find that if I set an alarm to remind myself to get up to move around and set an alarm if I am being active so that I will take the time to sit down, works best. It's a new thing that I'm working on and hopefully becomes a better habit. I hope that helps and I hope that you do find a good balance.
