Members shared mixed experiences when discussing whether the COVID vaccine negatively affected their fibromyalgia, with some reporting no issues at all while others noticed temporary flares in symptoms like costochondritis, sciatica, or general fibro pain. Several members emphasized that individual reactions vary widely, with one noting that while their booster triggered severe sciatica that resolved within days, they recognized COVID itself could cause similar or worse effects. A recurring theme was that illness of any kind, whether from vaccines, flu, or COVID, can trigger fibro flares, but many felt the protection outweighed the temporary discomfort.

I had my vaccinations in 2019 and it didn't affect me and I had the Maderna. Hope that helps but each person is different and things affect people differently.

I have noticed that if I get the flu or a stomach virus, it throws me
Into a flareup. Sometimes I cry because no matter which way I lay it just hurts worse. It’s one of those you just have to work through, try to get your medicine down. Then just rest and work through it.

I had two shots of Modera vaccine and it didn’t bother me. I got those shots in 2019. I currently have Covid. I’m in day 3 of it and my fibro is ok. I’m just very tired and drained even taking the antibiotic for Covid. Fibro is not affected at least so far. I don’t have any energy.
