Trouble Swallowing
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Recently, it’s been hurting when I swallow so went to ent doc and she said she saw nothing. My rheumatologist gave me super Advil for my joints but hopefully it helps. She also told me to try Pepcid. Does anyone have issues with swallowing? Some days it hurts more than others. She said if Pepcid doesn’t help after a week, go c a gastroenterologist.
Take care, God Bless!

hello there dear friend
yes- i have it at present - i had a gastroscopy in 2017 - diagnosed with acid reflux due to not eating my meals on time. i did try ginger tea which helped me and with time realized it as also due to a post nasal drip as well a build up of acid. eventually i started to eat 5 small meals a day and took sinus meds once a day - which helps.

note - especially during the night - it can be scarry so prop up the pillows - it helps like sleeping in sitting position .

hope it helps

I feel this has a lot to do with my Sjogrens as I have it as well as Lupus SLE, Fibromyalgia and a host of other autoimmune diseases.

Also if you find yourself clearing your throat and coughing more at night then make sure your chest as well as shoulders are raised.

Hi I had that where you feel you can't swallow and that there's something in your throat all the time. I was diagnosed with Reflux. Doc said the feeling in my throat is due to an over production of saliva that gets stuck. Hope that helps
