How You Manage Plantar Fasciitis
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Plantar fasciitis is pain on the bottom of your foot, around your heel and arch.

The pain is much worse when you start walking after sleeping or resting.

The pain feels better during exercise, but returns after resting
it's difficult to raise your toes off the floor.

I have suffered from this for 18 yrs. It gets worse when standing for long especially when cooking and walking. I have to wear soft shoes.

I saw an orthopedic specialist. He made shoe inserts that help the pain of plantars. He has a walk mat that is connected to a computer. I walked on it and it showed which part of my foot was taking the load. Factoring in the plantars and arthritis, he made an insert that has worked beautifully for many years. I hope this info helps you.

I have this. I had to wear a cast boot for 18 months but it is still no better and I still have the original lump in or on my heel. I use deep heat on my ankles heel and bottom of my feet while resting and just before bed. It smells but it helps lol x

Ditto-
Good Shoes that have arch support, OTC supports: Dr. Scholl's has inserts for this. See picture.
Stretching your feet too.
If you have insurance or can afford the Podiatrist, you can get Orthotics too.
Nurses get P.F. as they are on their feet non-stop.
I had a Podiatrist doing surgery on my feet. He poked holes in the Facia to help relieve some of the pain of P.F.
I don't know if it made a difference. I was off my feet quite a while after several procedures done and pins in my toes.
I would rather have bells on my toes! LOL
Another thing that helps, using a foam roller, like in physical Therapy, rolled from toe to heel, helps to stretch the Facia. You can do this sitting in a chair. Do this before walks.
